Dating a working class Englishman

Posted on January 8, 2013 by yankeebean

Behold!  One of the most popular search terms that people are using to find us at the moment – ‘Dating a working class Englishman’.  This must mean two things:

  1. There are a lot of working class English men out there getting some action
  2. There are a lot of confused women out there dating them and Googling them

I’m sorry to say that I’ve never dated a working class Englishman.  In fact, I tried to date mostly gay men until I was 17, so I’m probably the opposite of an expert.

HOWEVER!  I bet we have some readers that can provide some hints and tips that can come in handy when you’re dating your lovely working class Brit.

Consider this an invitation.  I’d love to hear about any of the following from all you lovely readers:

  • What are quirky things that your working class Englishman does?
  • What are his friends like?  How do they get along?
  • What does he do for fun?
  • How is he in the bedroom? (ooOOOOOOooooo!)
  • Is he a good kisser?
  • How did you meet your working class Englishman?
  • What was the first thing you thought when you met him?
  • What made you decided that he was the guy for you?

I can honestly say – I’m freaking EXCITED to hear what you have to say.  And I can promise that you’re not alone because people are searching for this information.  You’ll be donating your knowledge to a good cause. :)

Quirky things…no quirks, he’s far more laid back and quirk-free than me.

His friends…best, most funny, laid back, adventurous, humble people I’ve ever met. I agree with the previous post – they “take the piss” a lot which I’ve come to understand means they really like you.

For fun he does…everything! He is big into cycling and running. He also rock climbing, rollerblades, hikes, does judo, and is an amazing dad.

Is he a good kisser/bedroom partner… The best! He doesn’t take himself too seriously and is all about me. He makes me feel great about myself and is always cuddling, holding hands.

We met both on holiday in CA (I lived in FL). My friends and I bought him and his friends drinks because they were British. He came over to thank me because apparently English women never do that – and it was literally love at first sight! We both were recently separated from our first spouses and neither looking. I’m a doctor and he’s a carpet fitter…and we were made for each other somehow.

HI- it is “Forensic Spice” here– I wrote a guest post a long time back..Since then, I got married to my best “working class” English man friend and we both moved back to the USA together. He is awesome, but he was a bit difficult to understand at first, since he has a thick West-Yorkshire accent (and has been working on making it more proper so people can understand him here in the USA) . I love that this is now a popular internet search term! I thought I could answer some of these questions for you, anyway…

–What are quirky things that your working class Englishman does?

Replaces his “th” with “f’” – he has “free” eggs for breaky, and up until recently I was called “Meredif” – but he has an 8 pack – so we will let that slide ;-)

–What are his friends like? How do they get along?

He and his friends are very high energy and bouncing off the walls once they get into close vicinity of each other – its like their ADHD only cycles round when they get together – separately they are calm and mature human beings. They love each other like bothers and they will sleep in each other’s bed’s on a night out no questions asked – without having any tendencies that way! They “take the piss” out of each other and everyone else blatantly and with no remorse – but they are really just joking and this takes a while to get used to especially if you are a girl and might get your feelers hurt!

–What does he do for fun?

He is a music man and can play the guitar or piano for hours and hours – he can use his hands physically for longer than anyone else I have ever known. He loves to do physical things – hard core workouts and such.
How is he in the bedroom? (ooOOOOOOooooo!) I imagine, because he works with his hands and arms for 11 hours at a time 4 days a week with no breaks, that this is why his hands never tire in the bedroom…he very high endurance and can stay in difficult positions (for him, not me lol) for a long time just to please, for which he is very dedicated.

    –Is he a good kisser?

    Yes indeed.

–How did you meet your working class Englishman?

We met when he joined a cover band I was in, he played guitar and piano and I sing.

–What was the first thing you thought when you met him?

Wow, he is really motivated (he had learned nearly all of our songs in two sessions)

–What made you decided that he was the guy for you?

Underneath the tough exterior was a really sweet guy, and as soon as I could understand him (lol) he melted my heart.

*What are quirky things that your working class Englishman does?
Has an odd fascination with Eggy Bread…eww! He is also quite reserved, which is different because most men that I have met here are definitely not! He is also a bit cynical, which definitely inst a quirky thing here in England….

*What are his friends like? How do they get along?
All of his friends are the exact opposite of him, and they are lads lads, where as my hubby is so laid back he is horizontal (to use a brit colloquialism)

*What does he do for fun?
    I married a gamer :)

*How is he in the bedroom? (ooOOOOOOooooo!)
I think I am lucky, as mine is a wild man! From the posts and forums I have seen, most British men are reserved in the bedroom! Woot for ME!!!

    *Is he a good kisser?
Amazing! :) Passion and no reservations!

*How did you meet your working class Englishman?
Myspace back in 2007- when MySpace was cool…hahaha

*What was the first thing you thought when you met him?
You know when Amy Farrah Fowler on Big Bang gets a Tiara and is besides herself, that is how I felt!!!!!!!

*What made you decided that he was the guy for you?
He was laid back, decisive, confident and so mature for his age.
