Teaching the English how to give thanks
Thanksgiving in England
“I hate eating turkey” says English boyfriend to American girlfriend on Thanksgiving
yes, i have all kinds of links to american food suppliers over here – that was one of my first finds! so yes, i use libby’s!!!!
I have been in a few shops where on occasion i have heard what appeared to be ‘american’ accent – i never say anything though cause it could very well be canadian!
Score on finding the tinned pumpkin!
I now usually don’t say anything to any other American’s/Canadians either… know the feeling!! I usually eavesdrop though a bit to see if I can figure out if they are tourists or are living here…. Then I try to figure out how long they have been here judging by their volume and topic of conversation….hehe
I do think that is strange you have not met any other fellow Americans… ??!!! I hear us everywhere, even in the middle of nowhere Yorkshire!
As for your pies….Did you manage to find Libby’s canned pumpkin mix or are you doing it from fresh pumpkins? Just curious!
all i can say is thank god i found you girls! i have been here 11 years and still have not run into a fellow american! how weird is that? its so nice to hear from other people who are here, who think like i do and ‘get’ american humor. you have a new fan! I am off to get my pie crust ingredients because i am making two freakin’ huge pumpkin pies!!! woo hoo!!!!!
happy thanksgiving all!
